What is the CityKid's Nursery program?

We offer a developmentally appropriate nursery curriculum for infants though 2 years old. We strive to provide a safe and loving environment for your child so you can worship during the service without any worries. Babies and toddlers will be held, fed, diapered, played with, and loved upon. Be sure to inform our workers if your child has any allergies.

What is the appropriate age for my child to attend CityKid's nursery?

We welcome children any age under 2 years old, but we recommend they are at least 2 months old and have begun receiving immunizations prior to being dropped off. We have noticed children who are dropped off prior to 8 months old are much less likely to experience separation anxiety.

What items should I bring to the nursery?

You may bring any of your child's belongings such as- diaper bags, cups, bottles, pacifiers, books, etc. Be sure to label them.

Please note that bottles must be pre-mixed if you wish for your child to be fed. Nursery workers and volunteers are not allowed to mix formula for health and sanitation reasons.

Adult-Child Ratio

  • Infant/Crawlers: 1 adult to 2 children
  • Walkers: 1 adult to 4 children
  • 2 year's old: 1 adult to 5 children

What if my child has Separation Anxiety?

Some children may have a difficult time separating from parents initially, but we hope you'll find encouragement knowing that this is a brief and natural developmental phase. Our nursery workers and other classes are compassionate and willing to help your child overcome their anxiety.

One of our recommendations is for the parent to stay with their child for 2 to 3 weeks for their first Sundays to help the ease the transition. This will also allow the parent to familiarize themselves with how the nursery is organized and run. If separation anxiety persists, our nursery workers will begin a gradual system of separation, which has helped children from infancy to preschool.
